Description: In this interview, Registered Dietician Debra Hook explains special considerations for communicating with patients when providing nutrition education to diabetics in inpatient and outpatient settings. Over 100 medical terms are introduced and available for review using the corresponding online glossary. Ms. Hook holds a master’s degree and is a licensed Registered Dietician. She provides clinical services at various hospitals in Orange County, California and is the owner of Nutrition Solutions, for which she provides home-based services, focusing primarily on diabetic issues and children’s health.

  1. I would love to interpreter for Debra. She has such a wealth of knowledge and uses so many tools methods I haven’t seen used by other dieticians. Unfortunately, most dietician just try to educate patients without considering social and cultural inheritance that can undermine their efforts.

  2. I took the classes Facilitating communication for medical Histories on05/292020 and Diabetes Nutrition Education: An Introduction for Interpreters on04/14/2020. DSHS is asking for their approval number. I looked for it but I could not find it. Please, help me with that.
